Legislative Advocacy
We assist individuals, non-profits and government agencies with passing and implementing changes to laws and policies which would better empower and support the rights and voices of people with lived experience affected by the laws system. For examples we assist people with disabilities working on changing disability laws and people with experiences as foster youth with changing foster care policies.
Program technical assistance
We provide hands on technical assistance to non-profits and government agencies which want to create more effective foster care, mental health, housing, and lived experience engagement policies. We also provide support for individuals wanting to grow or create their own social justice projects and non-profit agencies.
Training and TA
With Lived Experience has worked on a wide range of training and technical assistance projects in various social justice arenas. We've drafted national surveys and conducted focus groups with youth and caregivers with lived experiences in the foster care system in order to improve policies, data gathering and practice recommendations. Our projects have included Federal grants impacting the work lead by the children's bureau, trainings of social workers, lawyers and judges, as well as providing meaningful input to individual practitioners, agencies and states.
